Square Times is my attempt at a crossword blog of sorts. My primary motivation is to keep a record of my solving times of New York Times crosswords and make them available to anyone who is interested in having a benchmark for their own solving times. There are a bunch of other crossword blogs out there, some of which post times. At least initially, I don’t intend to do much in the way of puzzle commentary. Other blogs are doing a good job of that. However, I figure there’s a gap to be filled, since I know of one blog with super fast times and one blog with times a bit slower than mine. For reference, my ranking in the ‘08 ACPT was 266.
I just created this blog today, March 21, 2008, in the process using WordPress for the first time, so this is very much a work in progress and will probably endure tweaking for some time to come. Feel free to offer suggestions, since I am by no means a design or web expert. Be nice.
I’ll be posting my times for the NYT crossword daily (or as close to it as I can get) for all seven puzzles each week. Unless otherwise indicated, I’m using Across Lite for solving.
